BudgeFlow never asks for your bank login credentials. We don't use Plaid or any open-banking aggregator. Every expense you log is one you chose to send — there is no passive data harvesting. This also means BudgeFlow works even for people who prefer to keep their banking separate from third-party services.
All web traffic uses TLS 1.3 encryption. Your transaction data is stored in an encrypted database with row-level security — every database query is scoped to your workspace by default, so no other user or workspace can access your records. Payment processing is handled entirely by Stripe; BudgeFlow never stores card numbers.
SMS messages travel over your carrier's standard network. For users who prefer added privacy, the Pro and Business WhatsApp channel provides end-to-end encrypted message delivery for all expense logs and replies.
